Solutions in this project

  • Separation of hot and cold areas
  • Supply and installation of server cabinets
  • Modernising the air conditioning system
  • Improving energy efficiency

FIMA performed modernisation of the existing data centre by introducing modern cooling solutions that increased cooling system power by 25%.

SIA FIMA specialists completely separated cold and hot air flows, creating so-called “cold corridors”. The work also included reconfiguring the air conditioning equipment and testing the cooling system through the input of additional heat. The project did not affect the regular operations of the data centre.

Project exclusivity

The project included installing the cold corridor solution by FIMA. This improved the capacity of the cooling system by 25%. The solution is unique because it complies with local legislation at a lower price when compared with solutions offered by other manufacturers. It is module-based and can be changed or expanded giving MTG Latvia much greater flexibility for expanding the system in the future. It includes LED lighting for daily system monitoring.

Modernisation included testing the cooling equipment with extremely hot air including keeping the air temperature above 30o C for a week – something that is rare in Latvia.
