FIMA’s safety solutions at Riga Seaport fertiliser terminal

Back to News

The intelligent engineering solutions provider, FIMA, will install safety systems in the mineral fertiliser terminal which Riga Fertiliser Terminal is building at Riga Seaport.

While building the new terminal, the focus is on advanced technologies that will allow for the  maximum loading and storage efficiency as well as minimising environmental impact.

Built to the ultimate safety standards, the new fertiliser terminal will become one of the most advanced and the safest terminals for fertiliser processing, management and storage anywhere in Northern Europe.

The estimated investment in the project is about EUR 60 million. According to the plan, the terminal will start operation in early 2014 and will have a reloading capacity of two million tons of mineral fertilisers per year.
