Back to News

Kelprojektas and Fima will design an important international rail link between Lithuania and Belarus. The consortium signed a contract for the design and supervision work on the project with Lithuanian Railways in June.

Engineers from the intelligent engineering solutions provider, Fima, will design the electronic engineering systems for the line between Vilnius and Kena, including traffic control, power supply, point heating, SCADA and security systems, etc.

The transport infrastructure engineering company, Kelprojektas, will design the railway line between Vilnius and Kena including its access and service roads, bridges, viaducts and platforms.

As part of the upgrade, the tracks at stations will be upgraded allowing more heavyweight trains to use the line.

The line connecting Lithuania and Belarus is of international importance because a substantial amount of international freight travels on it.

The design and supervision work for the project is expected to be completed in mid-2015.
