Gold Medal for FIMA – One of Its Kind in IT Sector

The Lithuanian Product of the Year 2009 award ceremony that was organised by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists and took place at the Government’s Palace saw the presentation of a sole gold medal under the IT category. Intelligent engineering solutions company Fima received it for the state-of-the-art data centre outfitted for the Lithuanian railway company Lietuvos Geležinkeliai.

“The engineering solutions applied in the data centre of Lietuvos Geležinkeliai make it the most innovative data centre in the country today. It is nice that it was given the gold medal – that way, our competence and many years of work in the data centre field have been acclaimed,” Fima’s General Manager Gintaras Juknevičius said.

In his words, talks about how information technologies are the sphere in which Lithuania can attain a high level of services and export them have been going on for several years now. According to the General Manager, competitive technologies generating a high added value are a key to the country’s future and one of the fastest ways to catch up with the old Europe. Setting up the most sophisticated data centres in the region is one step towards bringing this vision to life.

Fima has already outfitted a dozen or so data centres for different clients in Lithuania. The company’s specialists are continuously broadening their competences by looking into the global tendencies of installing data centres and are seeking to apply engineering solutions that provide the biggest economic benefits for the client in every project.
