Control will heighten in frontier stations

Back to News

In order to maintain the order and ensure security more efficiently in the non-EU frontier zones, by the middle of next summer, “Fima” will equip 12 frontier stations and the appurtenant territories with modern image surveillance and territory protection systems.

In frontier stations, “Fima” will set up autonomous surveillance centres, the staff of which will constantly monitor the images broadcasted by the image cameras and receive all notifications of violation of the perimeter protection system.

These solutions are obligatory to external EU borders and represent one of requirements posed to Lithuania who seeks Shengen area membership. Valued at LTL 9.4 million, the project is financed from the European Union funds.
