Company “Fima”, the leader of the electronic engineering solutions market, in 2005 has signed contracts the total value of which was 33 million Euros. That is 2,5 times more than in 2004, where the company has signed contracts for 13,9 million Euros.

“Last year was very successful for us. We implemented our strategic objectives in a consistent and focused way. Following these objectives we focus our activities on the development and sales of large and complex projects. Such projects reflect high competence in engineering and well organized management structure of “Fima”. Successful implementation of that strategy is also confirmed by the achieved results:  70 percent of the 2005 sales portfolio is made up by the contracts which value is bigger than 0,3 million Euros  each. The average value of the contract has also increased twice”, - claimed General Manager of Joint-stock company “Fima”, Gintaras Juknevicius.

The changes in the structure of the project portfolio and  separation of some activitiest into other companies of the group determined the decrease of the annual turnover of joint-stock company “Fima” by 22 percent – down to 18,5 million Euros. “It is a logical result of the changes taking place in the company, because large, high-level system integration projects in many cases take longer than one calendar year, therefore, even exceptional success in annual sales does not guarantee the stability of the turnover of the same calendar year. 77 percent of the contracts signed in 2005, according to the provisions of the contract, will be accomplished only current or next year. Due to this fact, the amount of the turnover of 2006 should clearly reflect the significance of the changes that were taking place up till now and the result of the successful sales in 2005”, – told G. Juknevicius.

According to him,  the biggest part of last year revenue received by the company came from service, transport and energy sectors. A constant expansion of the technical infrastructure and service has been provided to retail chain “RIMI”, SEB Vilniaus bankas, the contact centre solutions were implemented or expanded for the companies “Transcom WorldWide Vilnius”, “Lintel” and other. Large projects were implemented in the following companies: “Lithuanian Railways”, “Lithuanian Energy”, Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, Vilnius and Zokniai airports.

Last year “Fima” has implemented several innovations in Lithuania as well – the company evaluated a construction project for the new Vilnius airport terminal applying computer modeling solution, the installation of unique air pollution observation system has been started. It will allow to compose an accurate air pollution map of the whole Lithuania.

“We always offer the most updated solutions to our customers – we are the pioneers in our business section, often we are the first ones to implement global innovations in Lithuania. We are proud that being a Lithuanian capital company, we are successfully competing with acknowledged world-known companies in Lithuania. We are also encouraging our employees to think in an innovative way”, - claimed G. Juknevicius.

This year “Fima” is planning to complete several large projects which were started last year – to expand video surveillance system in Vilnius, to complete implementation of the security system in the borderland Lithuania – Byelorussia and Lithuania – Russia, to mount time-accounting system in Druskininkai water park and other engineering solutions, to install fire alarm and fire extinguishing system in the factory of plastic packaging materials in Klaipeda as well as to carry out other works which are already planned.

“Projects of such scale require large investments from us ourselves. We must be very strong financially, therefore, the biggest part of the profit earned in 2005 will be allotted to increasing financial capacity of the company”, - claimed G. Juknevicius.

According to him, not less significance in the activity of the company is put on updating the qualification of the employees in the engineering and management spheres. “Our product depends largely on the competence of the employees, therefore, this year we are intending to encourage and to send our employees for updating the qualification at our foreign partners more intensively”, - told Director general of “Fima”.

Even though the company is intending give most attention to large projects, it does not plan to decline smaller works. “We will keep on offering full service to our constant customers, even if it will need small amendments or supplements. Providing mixed services and serving we are seeking to meet their demands and to spare from additional troubles“, - told G. Juknevicius.
