Solutions in this project

  • SCADA control system
  • Radio communications

FIMA has been working to upgrade Lithuanian substations and to update their communication system since 2006. In this time, FIMA has upgraded the control systems at the substations in Šilalė, Kėdainiai, Rokiškis, Prienai, Pakruojis, Vilnius and Kaunas districts.

FIMA has upgraded the power substation control systems in Lithuania’s seven districts. It has introduced the SCADA control system, which helps dispatchers identify the causes of faults in the electrical grid faster allowing the power supply to be reconnected to households faster in the event of a failure.  After the installation of the new control system, the operation of the substations became more efficient with a more reliable electricity supply for customers.

This will also allow the substations to be integrated into a single dispatcher network and this is planned for introduction in 2018 to optimise LESTO’s performance.
