FIMA’s daughter company in Latvia was involved in a project to fit out one of Latvia’s most spectacular 21st century buildings – the Latvian National Library. An advanced video surveillance system as well as building access control, security alarm, audio communication and telecommunications systems were installed during the project.

In the new library, FIMA’s specialists installed building access control, security alarm, audio communication and telecommunications systems as well as a video surveillance system which is integrated with other engineering systems and includes more than 150 video cameras. Most of these are installed inside the building while others are sited in lifts and on the roof. The system is tailored to the library’s specific needs and is integrated with the library and exhibit security systems, ensuring a rapid response to a variety of emergencies including fires and break ins. It provides the most advanced security for the library’s visitors and property. Once the system detects a potential incident, the video cameras automatically zoom in on the specific spot. After detecting a break in or fire, the intelligent system automatically transmits a signal to the building’s security staff. Filmed data can be archived for up to six months.

The system installed by FIMA is user friendly and flexible enough to be expanded further.

All of the installation work was completed in less than a year.
