FIMA helps Lithuanian Foreign Ministry improve communications with embassies

Back to News

A further two Lithuanian embassies overseas will have access to the latest communication solutions which ensure secure and reliable communication for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

FIMA, the intelligent engineering solutions company, has expanded the communication platform of the Ministry to incorporate two more representative offices overseas, implementing solutions by Avaya, the global leader in communications.

Vaidotas Černiauskas, technical director at FIMA ICT Department, said that the main advantage offered by Avaya Aura communication platform that is based on open industry standards is its simplicity and ease of administration. This is a centralised solution which ensures the highest standards of reliability and safety because local communications remain intact in instances where communication with the centre is interrupted.  This system reduces maintenance costs and there is now no need to site experts in the remote embassy offices.

“Communication equipment throughout representative offices can now be configured from the central platform. As soon as administrators configure the central console, settings are then installed in all remote facilities. This leaves less room for errors and ensures uninterrupted and quality communications,” Mr  Černiauskas added.

Avaya will ensure ongoing development and support of the platform installed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as regular software updates.
